Our assessments are self-pay, allowing us to provide comprehensive, individualized evaluations. Superbills are available upon request for possible out-of-network reimbursement.

Meet Dr. Carrie Merino (PhD, CMHC)

Dr. Carrie Merino has spent more than a decade helping children, adolescents, and adults better understand autism, ADHD, OCD, anxiety, trauma, and other mental health concerns. She specializes in comprehensive psychological assessments that understand the whole person, recognizing both strengths and challenges.
Alongside her clinical practice, Dr. Merino serves as the Program Director and Associate Professor of the Clinical Mental Health Counseling master's program at Utah Valley University, where she helps train future mental health professionals. Her experience spans private practice, hospitals, crisis services, and community mental health, giving her a broad perspective when conducting evaluations.
Known for her warm, thorough, and neurodiversity-affirming approach, Dr. Merino takes time to understand each person's unique story. Whether or not a formal diagnosis is made, her goal is to provide meaningful answers, practical recommendations, and greater clarity about the path forward.

Our Virtual Assessment Process
Getting a diagnosis can feel like a big step. Click through the sections below to learn what to expect, and if you have questions, we're happy to talk during a free 15-minute consultation.
We'll discuss your concerns, your child's developmental history, determine if an Autism Spectrum assessment is appropriate and if it is, discuss the assessment process details.
Parents, and when appropriate, children, teachers or other caregivers complete secure online questionnaires or exams using evidence-based assessment tools.
Carrie will integrate interviews, observations, developmental history, and questionnaire results to build a complete understanding of your child before reaching any conclusions.
We'll review the results together, answer your questions, explain whether your child meets criteria for Autism Spectrum or another condition, and discuss their strengths alongside the challenges they're experiencing.
Every assessment includes personalized recommendations, practical next steps, resources, and options for ongoing support from us or referrals. Our goal is that whether or not a diagnosis is made, you'll leave with greater clarity and confidence in moving forward.
